Nella lunga, lunghissima sequela di miei idoli pop ci sono anche i Comet Gain, ovviamente.

Si formano a Londra nel 1992 e incarnano perfettamente quell’adorabile spirito tutto britannico di melodie con piglio punk, ballate acustiche sepolte dalla pioggia e malinconia da mattina post sabato passato a ballare northern soul.

Lo so, dico sempre le stesse cose, ma come si fa a resistere?

“Mid8Ts” è una canzone epocale, nel senso che fissa davvero un periodo, un modo Fred Perry di stare al mondo. Gioca sulla nostalgia e sulla rabbia, ma soprattutto fissa un codice genetico, un’appartenenza fortissima.
